John completed his two year pastry chef course at Clarendon College , Nottingham in July 2007. He was voted "Pastry Chef of the Year" by the College.John varies his time between Australia and Europe, and travels regularly to refresh his ideas about life, food and how to enjoy it.

Besides cooking, John enjoys motorcycling, snowboarding, hiking and visiting the outer islands of the Bahamas with his inflatable kayak. He also enjoys playing the guitar in the style of Chet Atkins, and plans on more intensive study of new guitar styles.
